While I'm married I do realize the patriarchal bs that goes along with it, being a radical feminist myself.....but in the end submitting to the word "marriage" while being in a pretty equitable relationship is worth it to have these legal protections. Consider the midwest drought of the 1930s and the wildfires in Australia in the 70s. In the early 50s, the spring snow was tan colored in Wisconsin. But, the solar irradiance was unusually high over the last several 11-year cycles. Nevertheless, we are now in the waning phase of the 200-year solar cycle. People who use the word "chick" on my front porch to refer to female human beings get asked to move along. I find it an offensive and degrading term. The word "Congresswoman" works perfectly well. So, your comments are welcome, but next time watch your language, okay?

Second, the public option is an option. If you are person not covered by workplace insurance, and you would like to buy your insurance from, oh, say Anthem Blue Cross, you would be welcome to do so. Personally, if I weren't covered at work, I would much rather have the choice of choosing a government program. He's talking about single-payer insurance, in which everyone gets their healthcare paid for as part of a single system, while retaining the right to choose their own doctors. Currently OKC spends 1/3 of what cities of a similar size spend on transportation funding. I'm guessing that you would not support the amount of taxation necessary to do the entire system correctly. All experts agree that faced with this large of a task that we must start somewhere and that downtown - due to its relatively higher density and its high amount of visitors - is the best place to start.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7336330802457006934.post-15886815074057028592009-12-07T09:51:47.108-06:002009-12-07T09:51:47.108-06:00I disagree with your opinion that a convention cen...I disagree with your opinion that a convention center would only benefit downtown business people. In fact, I would imagine that most of the time the convention center is being used by out-of-towners. However, it is these out-of-towners that help bolster downtown businesses, such as hotels and restaurants during the mid-week lean times. Without this additional business, places like Bricktown are forced to exist in a boom-bust cycle - lots of business on the weekends but hardly anybody in the middle of the week. If you have a favorite downtown restaurant then you should support things like the NBA and the Convention Center for their sake.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
